About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Houston’s Bellaire neighborhood, Pho Dung is a vibrant Vietnamese restaurant that masterfully captures the authentic essence of traditional Vietnamese cuisine. At Pho Dung, each dish is a flavorful journey, delivered with generous portions and crafted with fresh, quality ingredients that awaken your senses the moment they arrive at your table.

The crown jewel of their menu is undoubtedly the Pho Dac Biet Signature beef noodle soup, a steaming bowl brimming with tender cuts of eye-round beef, delicate rice noodles, and an aromatic broth that has been simmered to rich perfection. For lovers of bold, complex flavors, the Bún Bò Huế offers a robust, spicy broth with thick rice noodles and savory meats that many say rivals the best versions found in Vietnam itself.

If you crave variety, Pho Dung excels with other standout offerings like the Vermicelli Soup with Shrimp, Pork, and Chicken, the delightfully crisp Spring Rolls, and the subtly tangy Salted Lemonade that perfectly complements the meal. The Chargrilled Pork Egg Roll with Vermicelli strikes a fantastic balance between smoky, savory flavors and light noodles, creating a satisfying textural contrast. Adventurous diners will appreciate specialty dishes such as Hu Tieu Thap Cam, Bún Mắm, and the Hu Tieu Dai, each inviting you to dive into a rich palate of regionally inspired tastes.

The dining atmosphere at Pho Dung reflects its culinary authenticity—a cozy, inviting space where warmth comes not only from the spices on your plate but also from the attentive and friendly service. Regular guests praise the restaurant for its generous portion sizes and fresh ingredients. One guest fondly recalls the kindness of the staff, who welcomed her warmly even late in the day, allowing her to enjoy a comforting meal at her pace. Another customer enthuses over the "super bomb" egg rolls and the hot jasmine tea that paired beautifully with their fresh pho.

For meat lovers, Pho Dung is undoubtedly a must-visit locale, with generous servings of beef and pork that cater perfectly to hearty appetites. Whether you’re seeking a flavorful, soothing bowl of pho after a long day or a vibrant feast of noodles and rolls to satisfy your craving for authentic Vietnamese food, Pho Dung delivers with passion and consistency.

In summary, Pho Dung is where traditional Vietnamese recipes meet generous hospitality and a welcoming environment. From the first sip of broth to the last bite of a crisp spring roll, every visit promises a genuine and satisfying culinary escape to Vietnam right in Houston.

OMG, the Bun Bu Hue was huge, and the flavor was incredibly strong. I can say it’s very close to what I’ve had in Vietnam. The waitress was quick and friendly. I would definitely come back!

I was having a rough day and I walked in 45min before they closed. I was the only one in the restaurant too. They were so kind to me and let me eat without rushing me. Very fresh food and vegetables! The hot jasmine tea was so good. I ordered a round eye pho. #7 the egg rolls were super bomb too

Such huge bowl… I love their bún suông and phở, if you are meat lover this is the place you have to try in Bellaire, the price is reasonable with a lot of topping and vegtebales.

I was craving bun suong and I read somewhere that this place had a good bun suong so we gave it a try. We usually don’t drive that far down Bellaire so we were not familiar with this shopping strip. The parking lot really needs to be repaved and the drivers have no sense of common courtesy or right of ways. As soon as we opened the doors to the restaurant we were greeted by the delicious aroma of pho. It almost made me want to order pho instead but I stuck to the plan and got what I was craving. Menu: The menu had a lot of items and the drink menu also had some traditional drinks not found everywhere including the salty lemonade and the nước chanh xí muội. Obviously, pho is a main item there but they also had rice dishes and many other noodle dishes. The owner told me their rice and chicken dish was popular. Food - the bun suong was good but since I have only had it once before and that was over 20 years ago, I don’t have a comparison. Both my son and I ordered it and we both enjoyed it. Price is now $12.95 which is more than any of their other noodle soups but the bowl was very large. It is now several hours later and I am still so full. Ambience - aside from the parking lot, the restaurant was nice and clean. Lots of windows and plenty of light. There was an annoying fly flying around us as we ate though. Service - we were directed to a table as we entered and as soon as she finished up getting orders from the other table, she came over and gave us menus. After we ordered, it did seem like a very long time before our food car out but seems like there were only two people there working and the table that came in before us had many people. Cost - $12.95 seemed high for me for Houston but everything is more expensive these days. My son was thinking that everything was so cheap compared to Boston. However, when I went to pay, the amount he told me still seems high for our 2 bowls and one drink. There was nothing written down. I went to the register and he gave me a price. I paid it and left a good tip but if it was a larger bill, I would have asked to see it itemized. The numbers just didn’t add up if you use the prices from the menu. Overall, it was a good experience and I will be back to try other dishes in the future.

I have been coming here for years. Good place for casual dining. There's no big greeting, usually you come in and someone will point you to a seat if you dont alreasy take one. Quick to take your order and will give quick service which shows organization. Their Pho is good, the broth flavored well and noodles cooked properly. They always seeve water and sorouts with herbs lime and jalapeno slices. I have enjoyed myself everytime They have also done exceptional precautions to their convenience at the table, tablewares are secured in paper sleeves and condiments are now packed in 2oz cups.

Great place for Pho the broth is thick and addicting. The atmosphere of the place is relaxing. The service is decent but there is a language barrier so they might seem rude but are good people. This place is my favorite Pho spot due to portion size and delicious broth, a great place for dine in or takeout.
